Astro-meteorology featured in radio interview

Raffy Reyes, JP Rodrigo and Resti Santiago
On September 12, Astrology Friends Philippines was invited by RX93 Monster Radio to talk about the astrology of the floodings, bombings and protests that have been recently plaguing the Philippines.

Resti H. Santiago is a regular guest of Raffy Reyes at the beginning of the year on the show "Heard On Thursdays" (HOT), wherein he shares his forecasts for the upcoming year. Several storms and the "EDSA standtill" that occurred on September 10 prompted Raffy Reyes to request for a review of the astrological influences that are currently affecting  us.

Resti H. Santiago was accompanied by JP Rodrigo, who is becoming Astro Friend's official spokesperson. JP talked about the recent activities of Astrology Friends Philippines and invited everyone to visit our blog.

JP has been studying astrology for two years and he advises newbies to read up on Greek mythology as it helped him understand the meaning of the planets faster.

RX listeners are always the first to hear about Resti Santiuago's astro-meteorological forecast and Raffy Reyes was impressed that the predictions for the year has been quite accurate. Take for instance the two weather disturbances "Dante" and "Gorio."

According to Wikipedia's list of typhoons inthe Pacific region, tropical storm Dante was active from June 6 - June 12 while the severe tropical storm Gorio was active from June 27-July 2.

Now, lets look at Santiago's astro- meteorological forecast. He wrote in his book Medieval Astro-clock 2013 that on June 8 (plus or minus 7 days) and July  2 (plus or minus  7 days) there would be a major typhoon factor. Even without the 7 day allowance, which he termed as "orb of influence" the forecasts were spot on.

add an average of 4-7 days for each
projected date for typhoons.

What does this imply? Santiago was objective enough to admit that his astro-meteorological work does not have to be in conflict with meteorology. In fact, he insisted that it would be wise to combine astro-meteorology and the weather forecast from meteorologist because astro-meteorology works better when looking at a particular date from a distance, months or a year in advance.

Meteorological forecasts gets more accurate and specific as the meteorological event unfolds. For example, he stated that when scheduling an important event such as an outdoor wedding or a plane flight his astro-meteorology is very useful in determining the good or the bad periods.

Because you plan about these things months or event a year ahead when the specific weather forecasts are still inconclusive. On the other hand, while the  week wherein rains or typhoons can be forecasted from astrology, as he has been showing for the past three years, where exactly in the Philippines and how much rain it will bring is currently beyond the scope of astro-meteorology.

The people can be more alert when they know beforehand that weather disturbances are coming and as it forms they can tune in to weather reports to know the details.

Balatik, Filipino hunting trap inspired by Orion: On reading about Philippine pre-colonial astronomy

By Col. Romeo Solina, PA, retired Col. Romy Solina and his BALATIK diorama A few weeks ago, “Resti” Santiago, an astrologer friend, sent me a book entitled “BALATIK.” It is a book written by a University of the Philippines professor Dante L. Ambrosio, and subtitled “Etnoastronomiya, Kalangitan sa Kabihasnang Pilipino” and obviously in the Tagalog (Filipino) language. Although I was born in Manila and an a Tagalog, I found it rather a problem reading the contents of the book. Still, I must go over it since I must be knowledgeable in my own native language. On the other hand, the author must have a doctorate, having gone through the baccalaureate and master degrees to be able to write this treatise in the university as I also have gone through. The Balatik book concerns the methods used by the natives of the Philippines using the signs in the skies in order to determine certain seasons for their activities, such as fishing, sailing, hunting, planting, harvesting, and so on. ...

100 Years: The Life and Work of Serafin Lanot (Part 2)

By Ime Morales Read Part 1 Overhauling the Zodiac As the best known astrologer in the country at the time, mainly because of his book Astrology Through Filipino Eyes, which was read not only in America but also across Europe, Serafin Lanot was the only Filipino who got invited to attend the international conference of the American Federation of Astrologers or the AFA. In fact, he was made a member of the AFA convention faculty. During the conference, he presented his paper titled, One World, One Astrology. He wrote in that paper: "Now is the time for astrologers to assume the leadership in this fight for change, no longer as mere consultants and counselors to money changers and reactionary leaders, but as leaders themselves during this Age of Aquarius, assuming the mantle of seer and sage that both history and legend have thrust upon us." He went on to propose a "one world, one astrology" based on "reason, intuition and inspiration, to harmoniz...

WILL BBM BE PRESIDENT?

Bongbong Marcos. Image from Wikipedia By Carlota Elauria With contribution of Derrick Jan Lim June 7, 2018   Bongbong Marcos has been in the public eye in recent times, most prominently due to the controversy surrounding his highly-disputed loss in the race for Vice President of the Philippines in the 2016 Elections. With the petition still pending in the Supreme Court, his fate currently hangs in the balance. However, another burning question looms beyond the horizon: will BBM one day sit in Malacanang Palace, under the seal of President of the Philippines? His supporters might beam in hope and anticipation at the thought, while his detractors might yell “nay!” in fear and trepidation. To answer this question, we delve into the study of his natal chart, the transiting planets, and his career history. Upon such investigation, the authors have divided the possibilities into three periods: (1) the present until 2022 via President Duterte’s term; (2) the 2022-2028 Pre...
