It has been repeated many times over in the astrological circle that since 1900, all presidential candidates nominated during a Void-of-Course moon lost their election bids. I am not sure if people have the exact time of the nominations in the early part of the 20th century but from the latter part of that century, I guess there were no problems in documentation. But even in the 21st century, there were some misconceptions in the timing of the nominations. In 2008, some people thought that Barack Obama was nominated during a void-of-course moon.
